JWS Bass Covers is a facebook page with a collection of bass covers of various types of music done by Jerry Shutes.He began playing bass on an old 6 string sammick bought by his wife Ann he did alot of one stringers because he taught himself.
In 2008 he began doing gigs with Terry Humphrey after a demo tape was heard by his wife Linda Humphrey he later began doing solo cover gigs on Saturday nights and later joined up with Gabe Gibbons and Jim Merrell as they would accompany Jerry on his solo gigs.
Jerry later joined up with Benny Stockdale and J.D Berry and performed country gospel songs in local healthcare centers in 3 counties in the West Tennessee area. Jerry now puts his bass covers on the facebook page JWS Bass Covers.
Jerry was inspired to play bass by Charles Lee of Stanton,Tn youngest member of the Lee Brothers as well as Marvin Ellison of the Ellison Family of Brownsville,Tn and Jermaine Jackson of the famed Jackson 5.
